Chisinau city hall to purchase more trolleybuses, buses

Chisinau, 26 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The management of the Chisinau Electric Transport Authority (RTEC) and that of the Urban Bus Park have announced the procurement of new transport units to replace the routes in the capital. The information was presented today during the operational meeting of the municipal services.

RTEC director Dorin Ciornîi said that a purchase contract was signed with a Swiss company for the procurement of 10 articulated trolleybuses. "The company paid an advance of 20%, and in December - January they are to be delivered. At the same time, a contract was signed with an Austrian company regarding the purchase of three articulated trolleybuses, and another 10 means of transport are to be procured in January-February next year. In October, we will participate in an auction in Latvia, where we will purchase 25 classic and 18 articulated trolleybuses, worth 25 million lei (about 1.2 million euros). I would like to announce that GPS monitoring devices have been installed in 400 trolleybuses, which will be available shortly," said Dorin Ciornîi.

Also, the official noted that, in January-September period, revenues were obtained in the amount of 184.5 million lei, over 50 million more than in the similar period last year. At the same time, following the sale of subscriptions, revenues in the amount of 33.3 million lei were obtained, 20 million more than in the same period last year.

The management of the Urban Bus Park announced that the company is going to procure a batch of 18-meter long buses. According to the information presented, in September, several municipal routes were supplemented with buses. Currently, the daily output of the Urban Bus Park is 127 transport units, 30 more than the previous year.
