Moldova, countries of South Eastern Europe to make exchange of DNA data, information on people involved in offences

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will make an automated exchanged of DNA data, fingerprint data and data of registration of vehicles with the states from the South Eastern Europe. The cabinet of ministers today approved a protocol on amendment of the agreement between the parties to the Police Cooperation Convention for Southeast Europe, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The protocol’s ratification will essentially contribute to the enhancement of the residents’ safety, prevention, detection and investigation of offences. Also, the cross-border police cooperation will be strengthened to combat the threats to the public order and security.  

Institutionally, the protocol will provide the mechanism for boosting the present dialogue with the European Commission in the sector of automated exchange of DNA data, fingerprint data and data of vehicles’ registration.
