Physicians record increase in number of allergies triggered by insects' stings in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty eight people in September have called ambulance because of allergy emergencies, of which 19 were caused by insects’ stings.

According to the National Centre of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance, the patients were carried to hospital in all cases.

Physicians warn the residents that an increase in the number of cases of serious allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock caused by insects’ stings (bees, wasps, etc.), has been recorded in the last time. They pose a real danger for life and health, especially in allergic people, children and elderly. Most cases are registered in autumn, as this the period when the fruits ripen and are harvested. Thus, specialists urge people to call the 112 service in risky situations.
