Relations with Benelux discussed by Moldovan head of state with prime ministers of Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands

Chisinau, Oct. 7 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met on the sidelines of yesterday's CPE Summit in Prague (Czech Republic) with heads of government of the states that form the Benelux Economic Union - Prime Ministers of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte and of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel.

The presidential press service reported that the head of state thanked for the vote supporting the EU candidate status of the Republic of Moldova and mentioned that our country wants closer cooperation with the Benelux countries, including by increasing the export of Moldovan products to the markets and by attracting investments to our country. Maia Sandu spoke about the consequences of the energy crisis for Moldova and the need to identify quick solutions that would lead to the reduction of prices for energy resources on the European market.

Also, Maia Sandu spoke about the actions taken by the Moldovan institutions to fulfill the conditions put forward by the EU in order to advance to the next stage of the integration process.
