Exhibition dedicated to 30 years of friendship between USAID and Moldova inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - An interactive wall of over seven metres, on which the main achievements of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are showed during three decades of its work in Moldova, has been set in the hall of the National History Museum of Moldova, on the occasion of the 30 years of friendship between Moldova and USAID.
According to the organizers, the information on the interactive wall is presented in an ingenious and entertaining way, so that it should be interesting both to children and adults. Also, an exhibition of photos, dedicated to those 30 years of friendship between Moldova and USAID, can also be visited at the National History Museum. These are representative pictures from diverse sectors, made within USAID projects during the last decade. They are exhibited on the exterior side of the Museum’s fence.
The impact of the Moldovan-American friendship was felt in all regions of Moldova. The development of education is among USAID’s priorities. The Agency contributed to the creation of centres of excellence, such as Tekwill, ZIPHouse, MediaCor, Future Class, Fablabs, etc., which became names of reference in the society. The Novateca project turned over one thousand libraries into multifunctional centres, endowed with more than 4,000 computers and 400 tablets, thus ensuring the free of charge access of more than one million citizens to the Internet.
Starting from 1992, USAID has provided about 648 million dollars for the implementation of 130 financial and technical assistance projects in the following fields: Agriculture, Tourism, Vine Growing and Wine Making Sector, Light Industry, Democracy and Responsible Governance, Education, Information Technology Sector, Justice and Anticorruption, Community Development, Commerce and Export, Health and COVID-19 Assistance and others.
