Chisinau, 27 October /MOLDPRES/ - Law-enforcers have urged citizens to observe the safety measures while moving in dark places. The recommendations were made in the context of the partial disconnections of the public illumination, in order to cut the energy consumption.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), to prevent undesired incidents, law-enforcers recommend avoiding walks late at night in zones with less movement and unsafe. Handbags should be held under the arm opposite to the traffic; in this way, thieves will not be able to act by pulling it. If someone notices that he/she is pursued, the person should move in agglomerated areas, even if this implies the change of the route and should appeal to the first policeman met. When entering the real estate, people must be quite attentive, in order to notice whether dubious persons are in the hall or dark areas. Children should not be left unsupervised. At the same time, large sums of money/valuable objects must not be carried without proper safety measures.

On this period, the visibility in traffic is very important; thus, policemen recommend that people use phones with lantern, in order to be seen by drivers. Also, people must be attentive when crossing the street. The use of the roadway should be avoided, especially after the sunset and in conditions of low visibility.

Also, drivers are urged to adapt the speed to the road and traffic conditions. They should be attentive on road, as pedestrians are hard to be noticed, especially on segments connecting settlements and they move on the edge of the roadway. Drivers should also keep a large distance between vehicles, in order to be able to react in time.

Citizens are urged to call the 112 emergency number, in case of risk situations.
