Over 100 families from Moldovan capital receive one-off financial assistance

Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ - Over 100 families from Chisinau have received one-off financial assistance worth up to 500 lei. The commission for establishing material aid at the Moldovan capital’s city hall took a decision to this end.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the deputy head of the medical and social assistance general department, Marina Buga, said the assistance had been provided based on applications submitted by beneficiaries. ‘’More families were selected following the assessment of the applications. Thus, elderly people, persons with disabilities and low-income ones benefited from financial support. As much as 43,400 lei (about 2,000 euros) was allocated on this purpose. The money is provided for improving the material situation and covering the needs, such as the purchasing of food products or medicines,’’ Marina Buga noted.
At the same time, the Commission ruled to provide a financial aid worth 700 lei to 45 families which bring up and educate three of four children who attend early education institutions. As much as 31,500 lei was earmarked to this end.
Also, 73 families received material assistance worth 2,000 lei for the birth of the third child.
The money is allocated from the municipal budget and can be raised at post offices.
Since early 2022, about 3,000 people from Chisinau have received social assistance. A sum of 1.2 million lei was earmarked from the capital’s budget to provide the support.
