Former lawmaker to be officially charged today

Chisinau, Nov. 2 /MOLDPRES/- Ex-MP Vladimir Andronachi, detained this morning at the Criva-Mamalîga border crossing point, was escorted to Chisinau where he will be officially charged and placed in preventive detention for 30 days.

Veronica Dragalin, the chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office, mentioned today in a briefing that the former lawmaker was detained after the Ukrainian authorities declared him an undesirable person, and he was wanted by Interpol. He was expelled from the neighboring state being associated with the image of former PDM leader, announced on the US list.

According to the prosecutors, he is accused of large-scale fraud and money laundering, in two large cases - bank fraud and Metalferos.
