Chisinau, Nov. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova managed to reduce gas consumption by 57% and electricity by 14.25% this October (compared to the same period last year), announced last night Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
"I am grateful to all of our citizens for participating in this national savings effort. Some say that a small saving that a man can make is insignificant. Taken together, everyone's effort means a whole country that saves. A united country moving forward through all hardships. Together, man to man, we help Moldova remain free and defend our national interest", said Spînu.
On 8 November we will have an electricity deficit of approximately 8.2%. "We continue to import over 80% of electricity from Romania. At the same time, Termoelectrica has started connecting the heating in Chisinau. We will have heat and more electricity produced in the country", the official said.
