Three candidates for membership in CSM passed assessment of Pre-Vetting Commission

Chisinau, Nov. 11 /MOLDPRES/- The commission for evaluating the integrity of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors (Pre-Vetting Commission) announced today that three candidates from among judges for the post of member in the Superior Council of the Magistracy (CSM) passed the evaluation.

According to the Commission, Livia Mitrofan and Maria Frunze, judges at the Chisinau District Court, Center headquarters, as well as Ioana Chironeț, judge at the Chisinau District Court, Ciocana headquarters, publicly heard on October 7, meet the criteria of ethical and financial integrity and promote the evaluation.

The conclusion is set out in each of the three reasoned decisions, unanimously approved by the members of the Commission, and sent to the candidates subject to evaluation and to the Superior Council of Magistracy, the institution responsible for organizing the elections or the competition for the selection of members in the CSM.

Livia Mitrofan and Ioana Chironeț are running for the position of member in the CSM, and Maria Frunze - including for the position of member of the College for the selection and career of judges.

Currently, the Pre-Vetting Commission is evaluating 23 candidates for positions in the CSM from among the remaining career judges in the competition and is at the stage of public hearings of the candidates. Of the 23, nine have already been heard, and decisions are to be issued regarding 6 candidates.
