Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ - The head of the examination commission of the Orhei territorial subdivision of the Public Services Agency (ASP), one driving trainer and two intermediaries today were detained for the organization of a corruption scheme as regards the issuance of driver’s licences.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the detentions take place in criminal files opened for influence peddling, passive and active corruption.

Thus, on the period starting from 2020 so far, these persons would have organized a scheme through which they were receiving illicit remunerations. Following investigations, law-enforcers found out that the members of the group would have demanded and received by 500 euros for the mark ‘’satisfactory’’ at the theoretical examination and by 1,200 euros at the theoretical and practical exams.

Subsequently, the financial means were distributed between the people involved in the illegal scheme. Thus, the candidates for getting the driver’s licence were registered only in certain driving school and after the finishing of the training courses they were registered for taking the arranged examinations. On the day of the exam, the aspirants were endowed with hidden audio/video technology by some driving trainers, who were communicating them the correct answers.

Presently, prosecutors carry out searches, to raise evidence in this file.
