Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meeting with deputy secretary general of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development

Chisinau, 12 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, on the sidelines of his working visit to Paris, has had a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.      

„I appreciated the continuous assistance and expertise on behalf of OECD, provided to Moldova through the bilateral and regional programmes in the priority sectors: reform of the public administration – SIGMA programme; business environment and small- and medium-sized enterprises; transition to the green economy; fight against corruption; good governance and education,’’ the foreign affairs minister said.     

Taking into account the OECD’s practices and expertise for the countries candidates for the European Union, the Moldovan official tackled ways of boosting the cooperation with Moldova, which will contribute to the fulfillment of the commitments provided for in the Association Agreement between Moldova and EU.   

„I and the OECD official reviewed also the dramatic consequences of the Russian aggression war against Ukraine, the humanitarian crisis and the sustained efforts of the authorities for consolidating the border management,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu also said.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu paid a working visit to Paris on 10-11 November.
