Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova asks Russia to stop the war. We will work closely, in order to strengthen Moldova’s energy security. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has made statements to this effect after the today’s attack with missiles launched by Russia in Ukraine. The attack caused the automatic disconnection of a power line which provided the transportation of electric energy for Moldova and dozens of settlements remained in blackout.
„Each killing bomb launched against Ukrainian citizens and energy infrastructure has direct consequences on people from Moldova. There bombs which affect the well-being of our citizens and the energy security of Moldova. For the first time since the unleashing of this unjust war, our people from the districts of Cimislia, Balti, Straseni, Hancesti, Leova, Cahul, Falesti, Sangerei, Ungheni or Briceni remained without power supply, in blackout,’’ the minister said.
Popescu noted that Moldova asked Russia to cease this war. ‘’We will communicate to the Russian side our message of condemning these cruel bombardments. We will closely work with our western partners, in order to strengthen the energy security of our country,’’ the Moldovan diplomacy head stressed.
Today evening, Russia launched a record number of 100 missiles against Ukraine, which triggered the automatic disconnection of a power line which provides the transportation of electricity for Moldova.
