Chisinau, Nov. 16 /MOLDPRES/- The Customs Service informed today that in the last 24 hours, 2640 trucks were cleared at the customs posts located on the Moldovan-Romanian border. The announcement was made by Customs service after kilometer-long queues of trucks formed at the border.

870 trucks passed customs in Leușeni, 273 trucks in Giurgiulesti, 233 trucks in Sculeni, 99 trucks in Costești and 233 trucks in Cahul.

SV states that customs officials are operating at full capacity to streamline traffic and reduce waiting time. At the same time, the SV's ability to clear a larger number of trucks is strictly dependent on the possibility of their movement after the customs clearance has been granted, or the customs officials from the Republic of Moldova can clear and allow the passage of as many trucks as they can physically pass for control on the Romanian side , without blocking the passage over the access bridge.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, economic agents from the Republic of Moldova, which previously exported goods to Ukraine, have reoriented themselves towards the EU market, and at the same time, exporters from Ukraine (especially grain) also transit our country with goods, for this reason, the customs posts located at the Moldovan-Romanian border have become overloaded.
