Moldovan president discusses with representatives of more French companies

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met more French business people, members of the France – Moldova council of companies. The sides discussed strategic directions of common interest and opportunities of investments offered by Moldova, the presidential pres service has reported.
The head of state said Russia’s war against Ukraine seriously hit both the economy and the energy security of Moldova. The Moldovan president thanked the French investors for remaining with Moldova, noting that the country was relying on more investments, in order to overcome the consequences of this war.
Maia Sandu also referred to the firm commitments taken by Moldova in its European integration, by carrying out reforms due to help the country speed up the starting of negotiations on joining the European Union. Thus, the governance is set to clean the justice, uproot the corruption and digitalize more economic processes, due to allow creating a friendly business environment for local and foreign investors.
The Moldovan president encouraged the French business people to come to Moldova, in order to invest especially in the field of renewable and wind energy, through which the country is to strengthen its energy independence and diversify the energy sources. Among other sectors of interest, there are the afforestation, production of construction materials and the sector of processing in agriculture.
