Chisinau, 23 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan diplomacy head, Nicu Popescu, today instructed the summoning of Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), in order to express Moldova’s protest against the bombardment of targets from the Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, which triggered penury of electricity.
According to MAEIE, Russia’s bombardments in Ukraine continue to produce dramatic consequences in Moldova.
„Today, when we have massive interruptions of electric energy in the entire country, including the capital, Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu urgently demanded the summoning of the Russian ambassador to Moldova at MAEIE. The Ministry delivered emergency instructions to the heads of the Moldovan diplomatic missions, in order to inform the partners about the major impact of this situation. The Chisinau diplomacy points out that Moldova remains on the side of the free world and this war must be stopped as soon as possible,’’ reads a press release of the ministry.
Massive interruptions of electric energy supply were registered all over Moldova, in the wake of the today’s bombardment by Russia against the Ukrainian energy system. A similar situation took place on 15 November, when there were also disconnections following Russian bombardments against the Ukrainian energy system.
