Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The today’s weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission, held in Bender, started with the hearing of the report by the Joint Military Command on the situation in the Security Zone on the period 16-21 November, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
According to the military observers, the presence of posts of the Transnistrian power wielding structures, set unilaterally and abusively, is recorded in the Security Zone in continuation.
Therefore, the sides resumed discussions on the unsettled issue of the illegal posts, which remained the principal subject on the agenda of the Joint Control Commission in the last several months.
Moldova’s delegation firmly spoke out for the withdrawal of the illegal posts and armed unauthorized staff in the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.
Certain suggestions of Russia’s Delegation on the issue cannot be accepted by the Moldovan Delegation, as they do not meet the principles from the basic acts of the peacekeeping operation and the enforcement of the measures proposed does not guarantee the immediate removal of the illegal posts and the exclusion of their re-setting in the long run.
At the discussions, the sides failed to reach consensus and JCC is to hold another meeting next meeting.
