Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today approved an average tariff of 24 lei for water and sewerage. The decision was backed with 26 votes for.
Under the decision, the tariff is provisional and will be valid till the issuance of a notification by the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE).
ANRE on 24 November said that the ‘’increase of the tariff is lacking economic justifications.’’ The Agency stressed that it was monitoring the situation as to the consumers’ supply with water and was permanently discussing with the Premier Energy electric energy provider, which informed that Apa-Canal Chisinau was paying the debt accumulated in installments. At the same time, the electric energy provider gave assurances that it would not disconnect the strategic water pumping points.
