Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - Five border crossing points have temporarily ceased working because of the lack of electric energy supply on the Ukrainian side.

According to the Border Police, it is about the following points: Ceadar-Lunga–Noviye Trayany, Ceadar-Lunga–Maloiroslavets, Vulcanesti–Vinogradovka, Mirnoye–Tabaki and Unguri–Bronnitsya.

In these circumstances, travelers are urged to show understanding and, in advance, opt for nearby border crossing points.

The Border Police said that, at present, the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points were periodically ceasing their work. In these conditions, to exclude traffics jams at the crossing of the state border and increasing of the waiting time, travelers are urged to take knowledge in advance about the situation at border checkpoints. They can call 022 259 717 - the Green Line of the Border Police, which is functional 24 hours.

At the same time, citizens can watch online the situation or the locations of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points at the columns TRAFIC ONLINE (http://border.gov.md/camere-web) or HARTA INTERACTIVĂ (http://border.gov.md/harta-punctelor-de-trecere-ale-frontierei-de-stat), on the institution’s webpage.

The authority also urged citizens, as far as possible, to postpone trips to Ukraine, taking into account that there is a difficult situation in the neighbour state, where the infrastructure is precarious and this fact has direct repercussions on the process of work of the border and customs authorities of Ukraine.

In cases of disconnections from power supply, the Border Police of Moldova is prepared to intervene and ensure the functionality of the cross-border working schedule. In this respect, each subdivision of the border is endowed with electricity generators and other special equipment.
