Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty general education institutions from Moldova today received information technologies (IT) equipment, which represents a donation on behalf of the Romanian Department for Relation with Moldova.

„We benefit from huge assistance on behalf of Romania, in various sectors, or namely in the education system, which is one of the most important, we have had and continue to have full support, in order to ensure a qualitative education,’’ Moldovan Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala said at the ceremony on the delivery of the equipment.

‘’It is quite important that, in the situation of multiple crises, through which Moldova goes, pupils are able to have access to a modern school, be well-equipped, in order to create for them a solid future, based on good education,’’ the head of the Romanian Department for Relation with Moldova, Adrian Dupu, said at the event.

For his part, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu said that, on the eve of its National Day, Romania was making presents. Turcanu also said that it was good that these presents were for schools, as he came from a family of teachers and knew quite well the importance of the advanced school to create a flourishing society.

The donation consists of digital equipment: laptops, smart tables, printers, etc. and is provided within the Digitalization in Education project. In last summer, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita received Romanian Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization Sebastian Ioan and the officials discussed more subjects, among which the boosting of the strategic partnership and joint implementation of projects in the field of digital development, as well as the creation of a digital area, Romania-Moldova. The sides also referred to the need to pay increased attention to the cyber security and digitalization of the strategic sectors, such as the health, education and economy.
