Moldovan PM visits village in Telenesti district

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has gone to the Chistelnita village, during her visit to the Telenesti district, where she had a meeting with the settlement’s mayor, Constantin Ciobanu, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The discussions were focused on projects of modernizing the infrastructure and renovating the Community Centre, implemented by the cabinet and development partners. Village residents who live abroad, who accumulated needed funds to this end, got involved in the process of renovation of the Community Centre. Thus, repair works were carried out inside the building; the stage and the electricity system were restored. Also, solar batteries of 20 KW were set with financial resources of the Chistelnita mayoralty.
Another project due to be carried out through the European Village programme regards the arrangement of the central park from the settlement – pavement for pedestrians’ ways will be set, a car park will be arranged, 20 benches, 30 dustbins will be set and works of greening areas will be carried out. The overall cost of the project is of 1.1 million lei. At the same time, a playground for children will be constructed through the Association of Natives from Chistelnita.
„I am happy to see so many nice projects initiated in Chistelnita. You are an example and a proof of the fact that nice things can be made in the settlement with will and by showing civic spirit. I am also happy with the fact that the European Village had reached this settlement and on this occasion, I urge also other settlements to use opportunities provided by the government for the regional modernization. We will soon come up with a package of additional support for the settlements due to decide to be voluntarily amalgamated and I urge you to consider these opportunities,’’ PM Natalia Gavrilita said.
The Chistelnita village from the Telenesti district is member of the Association of Local Action Group Trei Coline (Three Hills), co-financed by USAID and Polish Aid. The headquarters of the Association is at the Community Centre.
