Several localities to get grants for environmental projects

Chisinau, Dec. 12 /MOLDPRES/- The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with the assistance of Sweden, has launched a grant competition for non-governmental organizations in the environment and local development. The deadline for participation is December 22.
Three NGOs will be selected at the contest. "They will provide the necessary expertise to women with economic activity in households in the districts of Nisporeni, Călăraşi, Basarabeasca, Leova, Găgăuzia, the security zone and the Transnistrian region, in January - August 2023," indicates the UNDP.
The winning organizations will receive grants to provide mentoring services to women in the target communities to undertake economic activities that would generate income for their households, be environmentally friendly, sustainable and climate-resilient. The value of the grants offered for the selected NGOs will be calculated in accordance with the number of assisted beneficiaries and will constitute up to 16 thousand dollars.
On December 14, the experts of Sustainable and resilient communities through empowering women project and of the companies that are responsible for its management, will organize an online information session on the conditions and how to conduct the grant competition.
