Scheme to illegally obtain land belonging to Chisinau city hall uncovered by law enforcement officers

Chisinau, 14 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- Seven people came under the scrutiny of CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors after allegedly setting up a scheme to illegally obtain land belonging to the Chisinau city hall.

According to CNA, an employee of the Public Services Agency identified people with property rights on some lands bordering lots belonging to the city hall.

Five cases of abusive taking of municipal properties have been identified.

This morning, CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors carried out nine raids on the persons involved in the organization of the illegal takeover scheme of the municipality's lands. Following the raids, mobile phones, information carriers and draft documents were seized, and one person was detained for 72 hours, who is being investigated for abuse of power or office. The other persons concerned are being investigated.
