First Eastern forum on security, management held in Chisinau

Chisinau, Dec. 15 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) organized today first Eastern forum on security and border management in the context of challenges to regional security arising from the war in Ukraine.
According to the MAI, the event brings together police chiefs, border police chiefs and officials from more than 10 countries that are on the eastern border of Europe. The meeting aims to highlight the importance of effective border management, and the challenges to regional security, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
The topics of discussion focused on the MAI's response to the changes that occurred starting on February 24 and the tools that were used in the context of the new challenges. Thus, participants spoke about security and border management issues, the limits of traditional organizational models and standard operating procedures during multiple and overlapping crises, as well as the needs to deal with simultaneous crises.
The fight against transnational organized crime groups, hybrid threats and real manifestations of disinformation, riots and cyber attacks were discussed.
