Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - Germany will continue backing Moldova both to overcome the crises triggered by the war in Ukraine and to carry out the country’s European integration. German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Uebber today reconfirmed her willingness to continue the projects underway for the benefit of the citizens at a meeting with Government’s Secretary General Igor Talmazan and the state secretary, Adrian Balutel, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The head of the State Chancellery stressed that Germany was a strategic partner and a consistent supporter of the government’s efforts, aimed at modernizing Moldova and improving the people’s living standards. ‘’We are grateful to you for all the assistance provided during time, including at the Moldova Support Conference held in Paris,’’ Igor Talmazan said.

For her part, Margret Uebber said that Moldova further remained on Germany’s political agenda: ‘’Germany has a fundamental interest for Moldova to develop in stability and peace. I assure you that we will provide you every support needed next year as well.’’

In discussions, the officials referred to the importance of strengthening the capacities of communication, through improving the process at the inter-institutional level, as well as the one of communication with people. On this purpose, following the reorganization of the State Chancellery, a department in charge of relations with the citizens will be set up, which will identify their problems and solutions with which the cabinet can come up. Also, the cooperation between the government, parliament and presidency will be optimized, boosted and improved.

Another subject of the meeting regarded the phenomenon of misinforming and manipulation of the public opinion, which has been fostered in Moldova on the last period. The government’s secretary general noted that, in order to protect the national information space and prevent the spread of forged information, the Commission for Emergency Situations had recently ruled to suspend, for the period of the emergency state, the broadcasting licence for six TV audiovisual media services.
