Serious preparation of EU pre-accession funds - central priority for MAIA in 2023

Chisinau, 17 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- This year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) proposes to adopt several policies by which the national legal framework will be adjusted to the European one, and farmers' access to budgetary or external financing will be facilitated. The interventions set out in the Government's Action Plan for 2023 were submitted to public consultations yesterday, with the participation of the main non-governmental organizations in the field.
One of the issues, announced by Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Bolea refers to the creation of consulting centers and agricultural chambers at the local level, intended to help farmers access external funds. "We must seriously prepare for the pre-accession funds. And farmers will be helped through these agricultural centers and chambers how to work with external financing", he said.
The Government's action plan for 2023 in the agriculture sector provides for the improvement of the subsidy mechanism, so that micro, small and medium enterprises are mainly supported. Also, the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture is to be reorganized, in order to ensure better transparency of the spending of public funds.
Also, the priorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry aim to increase agricultural competitiveness and productivity, develop fields with added value, with export potential, encourage the association of farmers in cooperatives, diversify economic activities.
