Another three villages of north Moldova district modernize infrastructure within European Village Programme

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The sports centre from the Viisoara settlement, northern Edinet district, has been reconstructed and endowed with modern sports means. The project was included in the European Village National Programme and 1.1 million lei (55,000 euros) was allocated for its implementation from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL)     

After the renovation, about 300 direct beneficiaries will enjoy the facilities of the sports centre, with an area of 320 square metres; they will have better conditions for sports activities.

Another project of the European Village programme was finished in the Buzdugeni village, Edinet district. Due to this project, the members of the Opincuta Folk Ban will benefit from national costumes. More exactly, 24 sets of national costumes were bought, including sandals. Their cost is of over 100,000 lei.    

At the same time, the library of the gymnasium from Gordinesti, Edinet district, was endowed with furniture and multimedia means, which will contribute to the formation and development of the digital abilities for 330 pupils, teachers, as well as for the residents of the community. The project’s financial value is of more than 400,000 lei.

According to the National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), the Edinet district benefits from 14 local development projects within the European Village National Programme. Their overall value amounts to about 40 million lei from FNDRL.  

The European Village is the most ambitious programme on settlements’ development and comprises 490 projects, of which 54 have been successfully completed.
