Assistance for cold period of year covers larger number of families in Moldova in this season

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - More disadvantaged families from Moldova can benefit from monthly assistance worth 700 lei, provided on the period 1 November 2022 – 31 March 2023, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

The cabinet approved the increase from 2.2 to 2.6 of the ceiling for the minimally guaranteed monthly income, used when establishing the right to help for the cold period of the year. Thus, the continuity of the provisions of the instructions of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), in the case of cancellation of the emergency state in Moldova, will be ensured.  

At the same time, the government approved the extension of the term of taking the decision as to the giving or non-giving of the right to social assistance and/or assistance for the cold period of the year by up to 40 working days after the date of the application’s registration. This adjusting is needed, given the increase in the volume of work of the staff from the social assistance structures, in the context of the implementation of more social protection measures meant for backing the disadvantaged residents in the cold season of the year.
