Moldova joins Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has joined the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic.  

Under a today’s government decision, the implementation of the Convention’s provisions will help prevent the useless delays in the maritime traffic, in particular: the traffic in port will be facilitated; the formalities of entry/exit of ships will be reduced; the exchange of data between states as to the traffic of ships, goods and passengers will be improved; a single electronic desk will be created in port, where ship owners/operators of ships and ship agents can fulfill the obligations of reporting in electronic format, applied to the ships which come to and leave the port, to an electronic information system applied to all concerned control authorities; the authorities’ control time will be shortened; the expenses of the authorities and ship owners will be cut.
