Customs officers collected about 1.4 million US dollars following registration of violations on circulation of foreign currency

Chisinau, 20 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Last year, customs officers collected about 1.4 million US dollars and over 870 thousand euros following the registration of legal violations on introduction, shipment and removal of cash in foreign currency in/from the Republic of Moldova.
According to the Customs Service, in all 45 deviations from the rules were recorded. At the same time, following the violations, customs employees collected 36,320 pounds and 241,560 Ukrainian hryvnias.
The Customs Service repeatedly appeals to resident and non-resident private people about the obligation to declare currency values entered or taken out of the Republic of Moldova, according to the legislation in force.
