More consumption points of Apa-Canal Chisinau water supply enterprise to be disconnected from power supply

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - More consumption points of the Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company, including the ones where the water supply enterprise has its administrative headquarters, will be disconnected from power supply because of the debts. The state capital enterprise, Premier Energy Ltd, announced a decision to this end today.    

According to the quoted source, the overall debt of Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company is already 73.2 million lei (3.65 million euros), of which 44.7 million according to the invoices with expired term.  

Not to allow the further increase in the debts, the energy provider proposed the working out of schedules of fan disconnections, so that the total volume of electric energy consumed meets the payment possibilities of Apa-Canal Chisinau stock company.

Premier Energy informed that the sums proposed by Apa-Canal Chisinau for payment in monthly installments were insufficient, did not lead to a real decrease in the debt and did not even cover the current consumption. This worsens the situation as to the energy provider’s deficit of liquidities.  

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has recently approved the increase in tariffs for the public water supply service. The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, at that time said that the increases made were not sufficient for covering the expenses and warned about the risk for the capital to remain without water.
