Nine hospitals provided with new equipment with Israel's support

Chisinau, 27 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The State of Israel donated equipment worth over 250 thousand dollars. Perinatal centers in nine district hospitals have been provided with modern medical devices.

According to the Ministry of Health, eight incubators, six resuscitation tables and three radiant tables for newborns were provided. The medical equipment was distributed to district hospitals in Cantemir, Căușeni, Criuleni, Edineț, Orhei, Soroca, Străseni, Ștefan Vodă and Ungheni.

Four devices out of the 17 were received by the perinatal center in Orhei, placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care room. The perinatal center was last equipped with an incubator and radiant tables more than 20 years ago, medical workers say. They also say the new equipment is much needed for the medical care and treatment of premature or sick babies. Annually, over a thousand women give birth at this hospital, both from the Orhei district, as well as from Telenești, Șoldănești, Rezina.
