Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today abrogated the decision on the ban of the export of electric energy from Moldova, on the period of the state of alert on the electric energy market.
Under the decision, the Agency took into account the fact that the stock company Energocom had supplied the needed quantities of electric energy through the signing with the Dnestrovsk Power Station (MGRES) of a contract on purchasing of electric energy, as well as of contracts with providers from Romania, in order to cover the demand of electricity of the providers universal service of last resort and of the system operators.
The interdiction as to the export of electric energy was imposed following the ceasing of the export of electric energy from Ukraine to EU and Moldova, because of the Russian attacks against the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. At that time, Moldova was importing from Ukraine 30 per cent of all electric energy consumed.
