CNA detained head of Balti territorial section of AIPA, manager

Chisinau, Feb. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Officers of the National Anti-corruption Center (CNA), jointly with the anti-corruption prosecutors conducted searches this morning at the home and office of the head of the Balti Territorial Section of the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) and at the home of a manager who carries out activity in agriculture in the northern part of the country. Following the raids, the two were detained.

According to the CNA, today the law enforcement officers collected financial means (31,000 lei), contracts, payment orders and tax invoices, which prove the money transfers to legal entities, complicit in the crime and which provided tools to disguise the origin of the money, resulting from the crime, certificates, which confirm the submission of subsidy files and mobile phones.

Thus, until now, the AIPA case has been prosecuted for 27 cases, based on the reasonable suspicion that they were committed: passive and active corruption, influence peddling and money laundering.

On January 24, 2023, CNA officers carried out criminal prosecution actions in dozens of criminal cases, started on abuse of office, passive corruption, active corruption, influence peddling and money laundering. Several civil servants from AIPA, as well as representatives of some economic agents, were detained for illegalities committed when granting agricultural subsidies.
