Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Olimp theoretical lyceum from the Puhaceni village, central Anenii Noi district, has been modernized with the support of Japan’s government. The ceremony on the project’s completion took place in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro today.
The institution was renovated within the Kusanone Programme, by turning to account a grant worth over 61,000 dollars, used for the thermal insulation of exterior walls, renovation of the base and access rooms, putting the pavement in the lyceum’s yard. The project contributed to the creation of the best conditions for the education environment, ensuring the protection of health and security of those 292 pupils, 41 teachers and the technical staff, by enhancing the energy efficiency.
”The Moldovan young people represent the strong point of this country. Once Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine is over and Moldova will become member of the European Union, the country will fully turn to account its formidable potential of human resources, as never before,’’ Yamada Yoichiro said at the event.
The Kusanone grants programme for human security was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, Japan has provided non-refundable financing worth about seven million dollars for 82 projects in the education, health and public utilities sectors.
