Human, intellectual potential of Moldova's Diaspora to be turned to account through Diaspora Engagement Hub programme

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new round of grants within the Diaspora Engagement Hub” (DEH) programme has been launched by the State Chancellery, through the Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD), the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

The grants are meant for the following subprogrammes: Programme for the support of cultural and educational activities in Diaspora (100,000 lei), Professional return of Diaspora (40,000 lei), Diaspora’s innovative projects (50,000 lei) and Subprogramme meant for Diaspora’s young people (50,000 lei).  

The eligible fields for the 2023 year edition are: education, health, and arts; business administration; creative industry, information technologies and communications; urban and rural development; architecture and design; engineering, scientific research; social entrepreneurship; public administration, communication, journalism and relations with public; Diaspora’s participation in decision-making process, the backing, consolidation and extension of the associative environment of Moldova’s Diaspora.   

The files on participation can be submitted on the period 22 February – 22 March, at 23:59.   

As for the subprogrammes, Professional return of Diaspora, Diaspora’s innovative projects and Subprogramme meant for Diaspora’s young people, projects can be submitted only by the Diaspora members citizens of Moldova and the activities are to be carried out only in Moldova. As far as the Programme for the support of cultural and educational activities, is concerned, the activities are to be implemented abroad, while the procurements should be made in Moldova. Projects will be submitted by Diaspora’s associations (non-governmental organizations), education centres from Moldova’s Diaspora, officially registered in the destination country, which for at least 3 years have carried out cultural and educational activities to promote the national identity. The winner projects will be implemented during two weeks up to three months and the deadline for submitting the final reporting is 15 November 2023.     

Launched in 2016, the DEH programme has the goal to turn to good account the Diaspora’s human and intellectual potential, being meant for the most creative, inventive, energetic and flexible fellow countrymen from abroad. This represents also a possibility to bring home experiences and expertise accumulated abroad during years.
