Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The lawmakers, at a today’s plenary meeting, adopted a declaration, thereby condemning the brutality of Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine.

The MPs found out that, starting from February 2014, Russia had been waging an illegal, unprovoked and unjustified aggression war against Ukraine, amplified through a wide-scale invasion on 24 February 2022.

Under the document, this outspoken aggression act represents war crimes and a glaring violation of the principles of the international law and international commitments assumed by Russia.

The lawmakers ask Russia to cease the military activities in Ukraine and unconditionally withdraw all military forces and equipment from the entire territory of Ukraine, which is recognized internationally. At the same time, Moldova’s authorities support the efforts of the community of democratic states to establish a special court for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, establish the responsibility for war crimes and for all infringements of the international humanitarian law committed by Russia and its acolytes in Ukraine. The document confirms the Moldovan authorities’ willingness to further provide humanitarian assistance and help to the residents of Ukraine, who are looking for refuge because of the war.
