PM inspects Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing point

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today paid an inspection at the Criva-Mamaliga Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing point. The PM discussed with the leadership of the customs checkpoint, border police and the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) measures of optimizing the crossing of the state border with Ukraine in maximal safety and comfort for citizens and economic agents, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.      

Also, PM Recean showed interest in the measures undertaken to combat the cross-border criminality and ensure the integrity among the customs and border police officers. The prime minister asked to find solutions to simplify the customs control procedures, in conditions of maximal safety for the citizens of both countries.     

The PM welcomed the work of the European Union Border Assistance Mission for Ukraine and Moldova (EUBAM), which contributes to the enhancement of the border control and implementation of customs practices in accordance with the EU standards.   

The Criva-Mamaliga border crossing point was the first one to implement the concept of joint control at the border with Ukraine.
