Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The problems of the farmers from Moldova, such as the crediting of the agricultural sector, as well as the actions meant to speed up the process of providing subsidies have been discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and representatives of the Farmers’ Force Association, held at the government building, the communication and protocol department of the government has reported.

The entrepreneurs from the agricultural and animal husbandry fields referred to the effects of the last year drought, the impact of the complicated regional context and of the decrease in prices for raw material on the carrying out of the entrepreneurial activity.

The PM said the government had two principal instruments of backing the farmers: the subsidies and guarantees. In this respect, decision-makers make continuous efforts to enhance the capacity of processing of files submitted by farmers and of disbursing the money from the Agency of International and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA), including through supplementing the number of employees at this institution for shortening the waiting time.

Also, Prime Minister Dorin Recean reiterated that the support and development of the agricultural sector remained a priority of the government. The PM emphasized that it was necessary to increase the investments in the products with high value added and consolidate the cooperation with the development partners, in order to modernize the agricultural sector.
