Mobile application allowing to find out time of arrival of public transport became functional

Chisinau, March 15. /MOLDPRES/- The urban mobility platform and the mobile application for travelers, which allows finding out the arrival time of public transport from Chisinau has become functional.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that the program was created for the comfort of the residents of Chisinau and the guests of the city. "The development of public transport services is a priority for us and we want them to meet European standards. Currently, more than 400 trolleybuses and 210 buses have software installed that allows us to track the movement of public transport. At the same time, information panels regarding the circulation of buses and trolleybuses are to be installed at the stations. The application is functional, and additional checks will take place until May 15", said Ion Ceban.

For his part, the head of the General Directorate of Public Transport and Communications, Vitalie Mihalache, said that the program can be viewed on the pages of the service providers, www.chișinău.md and www.mobilitatechișinău.md. "The municipality intends to continue the process of modernization and digitization of public transport. At the same time, in order to familiarize travelers with the new application, an information campaign will be carried out", Mihalache said.

The project cost over 3.2 million lei (about 160 thousand euros). The specialists worked on its implementation for over a year.
