Moldova to provide humanitarian aid to affected people in Turkey

Chisinau, March 15. /MOLDPRES/- A batch of essential products for adults and children will be sent as humanitarian aid to the affected people in Turkey, at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The decision comes in response to the request of the Government of Turkey addressed to the international community, given that the size of the damage caused by the earthquakes of February 6 and 7 this year exceeds the national capabilities.
According to the government's communication and protocol department, the batch is composed of food and hygiene products for adults, food and care items for children, pillows, blankets, towels, protective masks and other goods with a total value of over 8 million lei.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of Border Police will jointly ensure with the Ministry of Finance the operative fulfillment of the formalities for crossing the state border of the goods, so that they reach their destination as soon as possible. The expenses for carrying out the transport mission will amount to 348.7 thousand lei and will be covered by the MAI.
