Moldovan speaker meets Latvian envoy

Chisinau, March 15. /MOLDPRES/- Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts. The officials discussed the agenda of the visit to Chisinau by Speaker of Latvia Edvards Smiltens, due next week, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.

"Following the visit, we intend to boost inter-parliamentary cooperation relations with Latvia, and at the same time we are interested in taking over good legislative practices in areas such as good governance, regional development, fighting corruption or information security. We already have collaborations in these areas, but we would like to expand them, for the benefit of the citizens", he said.

Grosu thanked the Latvian diplomat for the active support of our country over the years in our European path and reform agenda, both bilaterally and in discussions at the European level.
