Stefan cel Mare Police Academy of Moldova organizes training workshop in cyber crimes sector

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - A training workshop in the field of cyber crimes has been organized by the Stefan cel Mare Police Academy from Chisinau, with the support of Council of Europe partners.  

According to the Stefan cel Mare Police Academy, attending the event were 25 unattached students of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Border Police, technical, criminalistics and legal expertise centre, as well as teachers of the Academy.    

The workshop was held in the context of the CyberEast project and was focused on the strengthening of the competences of civil servants with special status of the administrative authorities and institutions subordinated to the Interior Ministry (MAI), which face such crimes in their work.   

At the same time, at the event, the head of the section No 3 of IGP’s Information Investigations and Offences Directorate, Artur Degteariov, unveiled a string of case studies and useful recommendations for unattached students on typical ways of abusers’ operation, in order to facilitate the investigation of information offences.  

The training workshop gave students possibility to familiarize with the contemporary problems in the process of identifying offenders in the cyber sector, the most often phenomena recorded in the information criminality, problems tacked in the cyber security and criminality, technologies used by offenders, as well as initiatives of such international organizations as EU, United Nations, G8, OSCE, Council of Europe in the prevention and combating of crimes of this kind.
