Chisinau, March 29 /MOLDPRES/- Facilitating the participation of national minorities in public life, as well as ensuring the protection and development of their native languages, are some of the provisions of the implementation program of the Strategy for strengthening interethnic relations (for 2023-2025). The strategic document was approved today by the Government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Research, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

"The adopted program comes to ensure a favorable context for the consolidation of inter-ethnic relations, so that, by 2025, the Republic of Moldova will have effective working mechanisms in the educational, economic, social and cultural fields to encourage the participation of all citizens in state administration and in public service, as well as for ensuring the protection and development of national languages", Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală said.

The actions included in the document aim at four priority directions: public life, language as a means of integration, intercultural dialogue and civic belonging to the state of the Republic of Moldova and mass media.

The program is correlated with the European Moldova 2030 National Development Strategy, which provides for increasing the quality of life of all citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Its cost, for 2023-2025, is over 2 million lei.

The approval of this program is an action included in the Action Plan for the implementation of the measures proposed by the European Commission in its opinion on the request for accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.
