Sweden supports authorities' development projects, reform agenda

Chisinau, March 30 /MOLDPRES/- The priority topics for the continuous development of Moldovan-Swedish cooperation were discussed at a meeting betweeb Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova Katarina Fried, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The official referred to the Swedish support given to our country, noting that the implemented programs have a value-added contribution to the development of communities according to the European model. In this context, the premier said that the authorities count on Sweden's support in the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova, including in the context of Stockholm's holding, from the first half of this year, of the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
"European integration is an irreversible strategic priority of our country, that's why we remain focused on fulfilling the 9 recommendations of the European Commission. We want a country with strong institutions, a resilient economy, prosperous citizens and a competitive business environment," said Recean. The officials spoke about the Government's immediate objectives, such as justice reform, economic growth, creating new jobs and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as increasing investments in renewable energy.
Ambassador Katarina Fried mentioned the openness to further support the European path and modernization efforts of our country.
