Moldovan environment ministry to fully back promotion of ecological innovations

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Environment Ministry will provide every needed support for the continuous promotion of the ecological innovations, in all sectors of economic development. Minister Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov made statements to this effect at a national workshop dedicated to the ecologizing of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to the official, a component part of the promotion of the principles of the circular economy, of reducing the emissions and of decoupling of the economic growth from the use of natural resources, the eco-innovations can contribute to the achievement of Moldova’s goal as to the development with low emissions and of sustainable development, as well as recycling of waste.

”I believe that the selection of the priority sectors for the promotion of eco-innovations in Moldova – in the textile industry and in the wine production one – was not accidental. In these branches of the economy, there is huge potential of development and promotion of the green and circular economy, of reducing and turning to account of waste, elimination of the pollution of soil and waters, promotion of ecological products and services, creation of new jobs and attraction of green investments,’’ Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov said.

The ecological investment, the processes dealing with the green public procurements and of eco-labelling will be promoted within the EU4Environment project and will contribute to the promotion of eco-innovations in Moldova.
