Moldova won 11 medals at European shotokan karate championship

Chisinau, April 4 /MOLDPRES/- Athletes from the Republic of Moldova won 11 medals at the European Shotokan Karate Championship among seniors, held in Italy, according to the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS).

Two gold medals were awarded to Vitalie Spînu, in the Open individual kumite and kumite sanbon shobu +80 kg.

"The athlete from Balti won two more medals: silver in ippon shobu and bronze in mixed team kumite. Anastasia Spînu (three silver and one bronze medals), Vasilii Dovzii (three bronze medals), Daniel Mutelica (two bronze medals) and Sandu Gazea (one bronze medal) also climbed the podium," CNOS reports.

In the team ranking, the Republic of Moldova ranked 4th, after Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.
