Moldovan, Polish officials approach cooperation

Chisinau, April 6 /MOLDPRES/- We must do everything possible for the Republic of Moldova to become a part of the European Union. Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki made the statement today in Chisinau. He held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The officials approved a joint statement on bilateral relationship and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in cyber security.

Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland and the Republic of Moldova are two countries that are trying to help provide security for Ukraine and are united today by the Ukrainian fate, which brings our countries' perspectives closer together. “We understand the threats of war. Both countries are in the shadow of war. The efforts of the Moldovans who are trying to live peacefully with their neighbors and to become part of the European family in an institutionalized way, that is, to become part of the EU, must be appreciated," the official said. Mateusz Morawiecki announced that his country will provide 20 electricity generators for hospitals in the Republic of Moldova.

Recean said that Moldova and Poland have centuries of experience in collaboration, and today's visit to Chisinau symbolically represents the effort to increase the depth of collaboration between the two states. “We discussed the security agenda and security issues in the region and reviewed the bilateral agenda which is increasing in scope. We want to continue and deepen the collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Poland, primarily in the agriculture and transport. Poland is in the top 10 most important countries for the foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova and we invited Poland to analyze the investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova in fields such as energy, the industrialization of agriculture and digital services", said Recean. The official thanked Poland for the support on the European integration.

Mateusz Morawiecki is paying a visit to Chisinau today. The official's agenda also includes a meeting with President Maia Sandu.
