Writers' Union of Moldova: We are a people with European vocation, part of Romanian nation

Chisinau, May 17 /MOLDPRES/- Writers' Union of Moldova supports the initiative of President Maia Sandu to convene the European Moldova National Assembly on May 21, 2023 to reaffirm our pro-Western option.

An appeal signed by the Writers' Union reads that the Republic of Moldova deserves to be part of the European Union, where most of the former communist states, which became free after the fall of the Berlin Wall, are already located in the year of grace 1989. We are a people with a European vocation, part of the Romanian nation, freed from communism.

As a cultural forum that was at the foundation of the national renaissance from the beginning of the 90s and that advocates for the defense of Romanian identity, for the development of spirituality and the affirmation of the European vocation of the Republic of Moldova, the Writers' Union calls the citizens to come in large numbers, on May 21, in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau, to demonstrate our will and decision to break it once and for all from the past of poverty, repression and humiliation in which the Soviet regime of occupation and the pro-Moscow mafias that governed this state in the last 30 years.
