President of European Parliament: Europe is Moldova, Moldova is Europe

Chisinau, May 21. /MOLDPRES/- Europe is Moldova, Moldova is Europe. The message was sent by President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola at the European Moldova National Assembly held in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) in Chisinau today.

The official began speech to the citizens in Romanian. "Dear citizens of the Republic of Moldova, dear Europeans! You chose Europe and Europe welcomes you with open arms. Maia Sandu is an inspiring leader and I would like to stand with you when, this year, we start negotiations for EU accession. We live in times of instability, but Moldova remains proud. The world sees your courage and fight against atrocity. The world sees your generosity to Ukrainians, women and children. These actions show that you believe in EU values", said Roberta Metsola.

The President of the European Parliament said that today's event demonstrates the strong message of the Moldovans, who support the European integration. "We send a firm message: Europe is Moldova, Moldova is Europe! This is a common message. We live in unstable times, but Moldova is not alone, the European Union will always be by your side", said Roberta Metsola.

The European Moldova National Assembly is held today in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau and in 33 other European cities. Citizens from all over the country gathered in the center of the capital to announce that they support the country's European path.
